Summary: KRISP and the UKZN Big Data Flagship group are tracking the trajectory of the COVID-19 outbreak in South Africa. So far, it seems that the early and increasing state response has helped to avoid a large outbreak. Our results were used by the South African Minister of Health to show the comparison of the the South African and the UK epidemic
