Summary: Genome Detective Virus Tools can be used to help with the diagnosis of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 when starting from FASTQ files. In this video, we show its use in the generation and analysis of whole genomes in Belgium, February 2020. Genome detective uses raw sequence read file was generated with an Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION. KU Leuven could generate a whole genome from sample to FASTQ it took about 8 hours and the Genome Detective analysis was performed in about 10 minutes.
